Evan had the most amazing turn out at his birthday party on sunday!
The party started @ 1pm and the first few to show up were some of my relatives that I haven't seen in awhile and it was very surprising! Even though I invited everyone on my facebook account that lived in the area, I found that the people I thought wouldn't come-came and the people I thought would come- didn't. Weird huh?
Anyway... we started out with hot dogs and burgers on the grill, tapped the root beer keg and then all the kids started swimming in Evan's new pool that we got him. We had water balloon fights, squirt gun fights, pirate sword fights, and we played hillbilly horseshoe and cornhole, then we all got into a silly string fight in the front yard (that uncle brad gifted). We opened all presents and had cake.
I made Evan a pirate ship cake! It turned out pretty detailed and the moistest cake I've had in awhile!
We finished up with a pinata and wined down with more swimming.
After some poeple left and more people came, Evan opened more gifts and we all went inside out of the hot weather (it was about 92* allday). I think I turned on the A/C about an hour into the party.
It was nice to have all the Graham family there too, it's been awhile since the 'rents and grand'rents have seen Evan, unfourtunately.
Everyone left but Heather, Trent and the kids which was nice cause it got us a chance to visit. After a couple hours of no one else showing up I decided to start picking up the back yard. Wes had mentioned that this was the busiest party he has ever hosted and he wondered if he even was able to say hi to anyone....I just laughed!
Wait until next year...

Evan's turning 3 !!!!!!
So we are a little behind on blogging but the girls have insired me yet again to update it regularly!
We are getting ready to celebrate Evan's third birthday with a Pirate Pool Party! We are hosting it on a sunday, which is wierd I know but it's the only day I know nobody has to work. And it looks like we're going to have good weather too!! My mom and I have been hard at work for weeks finding all the right party favors to do the job! Evan just loves pirates ever since him and his Papa Tom have talked about it and we had a Pirate themed raft for raft-o-ramma this year. So ARGGG it is! I can't wait to post pics afterwards.
We had some amazing pictures taken in June from a good friend Ashley. I will attach some to preview soon. You need to have her do them, they are awesome!!
Last night me and the girls got together for some wine and helped Ashley sort through some things and clothes for a garage sale she is having this weekend. It was so nice to be out with the girls again.
I wish I could do it more, but they seem to be into having more kids and I just can't get in on those discussions because I don't have the connection with pregnancies like they do.... (sigh). That is a whole other issue though.

Happy St. Patty's Day!!
Well, to catch everyone up on a few things since last blog....
We were looking at houses to buy via land contract, they only need 10% down and we wouldn't have to loan money. So we started with a really great realtor refered by a friend and she showed us this awesome house out towards pleasant lake area. It needed work but it was perfect for us!! We put in an offer, but of course it fell through. We realized our credit is what we needed to fix first, so it looks like we're in the city a little bit longer. : ( On that note though my house is clutter free, and clean, due to pending sale/buy.
Everyone that knows me knows I'm a clean freak! I also was trying to sell everything we own, just about, to get the 10% down for the house. Wes and I decided no more children due to the funds of an adoption, so I sold all my baby stuff or gave it to my sister-in-law who is due in july.
Yes, Eric and Emily are having another baby boy, due July 1st. So yeah, another nephew!!
I already watch my nephew, Parker, wednesday through saturday and loving it!
I am currently looking for a job, and had interview at menards last monday. They said they'll let me know within 2 weeks. I think it would be fun to work there, I am a major DIYer!
That is most of the updates, besides the weather has been great for the past few days and we've been able to be outside!!! Yeah, no more cabin fever!

To the Treehouse!
Yesterday we went tot he Treehouse playhouse with Leslie, her mom, and the kids!
We had never been there before, so we were in for a treat!
As we walked in Evan was excited to check it out!
It was like a huge McDonalds play area, but with the theme of a Treehouse! It had slides, climbers, bumpers, rings to swing on, a baby area, and great healthy food and coffee!
It was such a nice change from the ordinary and to be able to hang out with Leslie again was nice!
I have lots of friends but none I'm really close to but my family and Leslie would be a good friend to become close to.
Enclosed are some pictures of our fun adventure!

February Update
So the newest stuff that is happening is:
We are trying to potty train Evan, again. We figure if we want him to start preschool in the fall he needs to be potty trained. We bought him new 'big boy' underwear and are trying the sticker chart again.
The reason we want him to start preschool is 1- we think he's ready early, he is so smart! 2- he would be in with his cousins. 3- I started early too.
Lately I have been home with him and working with him and his cousin Parker when he comes over.
Over Valentine's day dinner, Wes and I had a long discussion on adopting again or not. We've decided that Evan is our miracle boy and that we want to give him everything we can...and not spend it on another adoption. Yes, we've decided not to adopt again, it's just too much money and Evan is such a blessing, We wouldn't want to risk his happiness and ours.
Another update is that we really want to get out of the city!!!! We have thought about a quick sale/short sale and then save for a land contract deal... With me not having a job I am not sure we would get a good loan. We are looking in the northwest area, of course, but so is everyone else. We really like this house on the corner of Benn and Dearing, but we've told some friends and family that and now they want it too, so I guess it's first come first serve, huh?!
Next I would have to say that I am on a major decluttering rampage with getting rid of all my baby stuff and everything else I don't use! I want to clean everything all the time and reorganize!! DO you think I have OCD?? Just joking, I think its more of a home all the time thing...
On the job front I have had multiple interviews but either I am too qualified or not enough experience. Make up your mind would ya!! I figured I am making the same amount on unemployment that I would if I was working (daycare, gas, etc) but still it is frustrating that I have a degree (and spent all that money on school) and nothing to show for it!!
I have thought many times on becoming more 'green' but that means changing alot for Wes and Evan too. It's hard to change for men!!!!!
Wes celebrated his 32nd birthday this month and purchased some new ice fishing gear (his new hobby) and got to go out on the ice a couple times with Brad. He seems to enjoy it (freezing my ass off and staring at a hole- no thanks!).
Sabbath is still doing well on his pain pills, for those who don't know he has multiple tumors throughout his body. Ozzie of course is wild and crazy like a puppy still. And we only had to flush one fish in the last 2 years!

Preparation to adopt and Update!
So as you can see we are trying to adopt again and I thought if I could use our blogspot as an advertisment. We have started the paperwork and have everything ready but the application fee- $750. We almost have it and then we start the long waiting game of getting picked from a pool of couples and families just like us. No pressure!
So if any of you lovely followers could spead the word and help us expand our family, it would be appreciative!
So an update on the homefront as well:
Evan is enjoying me staying home with him since being let go from TLC in november. I have had many interviews but noone is hiring. Maybe I'll go back to doing the daycare? I have begun many projects at home and Evan enjoys helping me. I also have been watching my nephew, Parker, who is only a year older than Evan, so he has a playmate besides me.
Wesley is still working as the manager of the meat dept. at Polly's and enjoying being able to display his skills as a manager. So if you need meat, go see him, he'll cut you something good. He's on Parnall rd. now.
Evan was so cute at christmas, He really got into opening the presents and wanted to open everyone else's for them too! LOL New years was fun too, we went to Evan's Godparents house first and enjoyed some time with them and their kids! Then we went to Wes' brother's house and counted down with the kids after playing the Wii for awhile. Evan was so excited to make all the noises at midnight! It was a blast!
January brought tons of snow and Evan has enjoyed playing in it as well as us and the dogs!
